The Council of Cooperative Health Insurance (CCHI) has decided that from January 2020 personal identity cards can be used to identify the insured people. The CCHI has launched a new campaign “We have made it easier for you.“
From January 2020 all the insured citizens and the residents can show their identity cards instead of health insurance card when visiting hospitals/clinics. Citizens can use their national identity card and residents can use their residency card(Iqama).

The council’s secretary-general Dr. Shabab Al-Ghamdi said that this will give the insured an easier access to healthcare services and keep pace with the digital transformation in the private health insurance sector.
Information on personal health insurance can be found on the CCHI website by entering a national identity card or Iqama number.
